Starting-up - life thus far at Conversica

This time last week we Conversicans in the (still pretty shiny and new) UK team were sat contemplating the previous night's London office launch event. An energetic gathering of partners, customers, and prospects keen to learn more about Conversational AI (you can read the press release here), the success of the evening really brought home what an exciting industry we're fortunate to be a part of, and the real value we're bringing to those pioneering companies already embracing Augmented Workforce technologies in Europe.

It was in January of this year that Conversica began its European journey, and in the middle of that month I left my (very fulfilling!) role at Anaplan to become employee #2 on the ground here. Since then, things have been non-stop as we've quickly ramped up the business, taking the best of what our US and LATAM colleagues have to offer, and forging our own uniquely European path. In these few short months we've set up a number of already fruitful partnerships with the likes of SuccessFlow, and forged solid links with those customers who already existed on this side of the Atlantic, as well as quickly adding new names. Yesterday I took to the stage at Madison Logic's ABM Symposium marking my first 'public outing' as Conversica's EMEA Marketing Director. Life at hyper-growth unicorn Anaplan now seems in retrospect to be incredibly predictable and consistent!

Part of the reason I took the leap, was a firm belief that I could replicate the journey of success I was part of during nearly four years at Anaplan, as we revolutionised our sector, disrupting several larger legacy brands, forging a new technology category, and of course being recognised via one of 2018's most impressive IPOs. Being one of the first on the ground at what is, in effect, a brand new start-up (albeit with the backbone of our small-but-established US business) has been a fascinating experience, and one that has proved the truth to the old saying "you learn something every day" (in this case, a good many things!).

2019 has been a wonderful year already for Conversica, from being named Marketo's Technology Partner of the Year for 2019, to ranking #6 in Fast Company's 2019 World Most Innovative AI Companies list, and the well-received release of our 4th Annual Sales Effectiveness Report. We've even found the time to refresh Conversica.com with a great new look. Launching our UK and EMEA presence couldn't have come at a better time!

Next on our horizon is the behemoth that is Adobe Summit EMEA, later this month at ExCeL in London. My next post will be all about how you can join us there for either/both a lunch-and-learn or/and evening drinks reception. Until then, adieu!
