Starting off 2021 at Nexthink with a bang… and a new hoodie!

It’s been 11 months since I joined Nexthink, and I’ve met maybe 10 Nexthinkers in person – socially distanced, of course. But, through the magic of technology, I’ve been able to virtually meet so many others. Each Nexthinker I meet has an incredibly unique story but we are united by our core values – we get things done, we keep growing, we are positive, and we are one team. I am ready for the day I can finally meet more of this amazing team in person!

2021 is off to a great start… it’s been quite the exciting quarter at Nexthink! Here are some of the highlights:

Nextplorer Lego

We held our first-ever 100% Virtual Kickoff

In previous years, Kickoffs at Nexthink have been a chance for us ALL (not just the Sales team!) to gather in person, setting us up for a successful year ahead. With the current pandemic, this obviously wasn’t possible. But our team did an incredible job of putting together a 3-day Virtual Kickoff, themed Leading the Way. We heard from our leadership team about exciting initiatives and areas of focus for the year ahead, were inspired by amazing stories of leadership by Manley Hopkinson, we listened to industry experts talk about the future of work, and we even got some cool swag like my new favorite hoodie and a Nextplorer Lego!

We ended Kickoff with a company-wide Virtual Escape Room experience. Nearly 700 Nexthinkers in one Zoom room trying to solve challenges… what could go wrong?!

 We became a unicorn

In February, we announced our Series D funding of $180M, valuing Nexthink at over $1.1B, officially making us a unicorn. This is a major milestone for us as a company and gives us great momentum in the market to keep building and perfecting digital employee experience management, delighting people at work everywhere. This funding round will help us accelerate innovation, rapid growth and expansion, particularly in the US. I feel immensely proud to work for Nexthink. So do our employees’ adorable kids and dogs

We introduced Leadership Labs

One thing I’m really proud of is our rollout of Leadership Labs – our company-wide virtual learning, development, and skills sessions. We believe that all employees, not just people managers, should have access to this type of programming. We believe growth, change, and leadership happen at all levels at Nexthink. So far, we’ve had sessions on: making an impact at all levels, mastering virtual presence, delivering effective feedback, and burnout prevention - all facilitated by external guest speakers and subject matter experts. Judging by the Zoom chats, I think it’s safe to say Nexthinkers have been loving these sessions!

We celebrated Black History Month

I’m constantly in awe of our Nexthinkers – their ability to connect and share stories across different cultures is so inspiring. In February, a group of Nexthinkers hosted an insightful conversation honoring Black History Month, facilitated by Rick Utaegbulam of Community Vibes. They shared their personal experiences of the importance of recognizing Black History, being Black in the workplace, their motivations and challenges, and their advice for how allies can help create change. I want to thank Tamra Cooper, Sherrell Pierre, and Niyi Olopade for their willingness to lead this meaningful conversation. The first of many to come!

 We launched Mindfulness programming

At Nexthink, if you have a great idea, you get the freedom and opportunity to run with it. That’s exactly what happened with the introduction of our Mindfulness program. Two of our Nexthinkers, Liz Raymond and Olivier Magand, are active Mindfulness instructors and practitioners. They saw an opportunity for us to bring more awareness and attention to mindfulness and mental health in the workplace and launched an introductory course available to all employees. Now, the two lead weekly mindfulness practices, where employees can put their practice into action.

 We are hiring!

I can feel the momentum building at Nexthink. One look at our open career opportunities will highlight that we’re scaling up our team for hypergrowth. We’re looking to add new team members across multiple geographies and divisions, that bring with them their unique backgrounds, perspectives, experiences, and skills to help us continuously evolve and grow. If you’re just curious or actively contemplating a new role, connect with us to learn more and apply today… don’t miss your chance to hop onboard the Nexthink rocket ship!
