Starting a New Semester
Starting a new semester in college brings forward new challenges for every student. After enjoying a hard-earned break, it can be difficult to jump back into the school routine. There are steps students can take to make sure they start the new semester off right including establishing a routine, staying organized, and accessing the resources that our campus has to offer.?
It is very easy to fall behind early in the semester and let things pile up without putting much care into schoolwork. However, staying on top of everything and being organized can be one way to ensure a great semester. Being on track with your work can reduce burnout and leave more time for activities outside of classes.?
CommAgency member, Fiona Pfafflin, explains “starting off the new semester for me means establishing a comfortable routine where I can accomplish a balance of everything. I take the first two weeks to get a feel for my work load and class schedule so I can organize my life and create some kind of order.”
There are tons of resources available around campus that can help with starting the new semester on a positive note. Office hours are a great way to get help from your professors on topics you may be struggling with in class. Knowing the times and location of these hours each week can be a vital resource throughout the semester.?
By staying organized through a routine, and accessing the resources available on campus, students can set themselves up for success. CommAgency wishes everyone good luck in starting the new semester off on the right track.
