Starting a New Project: Helsinki City Bike Analysis API!

I’m super pumped to share that I'm kicking off a new project that dives into the world of Helsinki City Bike data from HSL Helsingin seudun liikenne . Being a local here in Helsinki, I’ve always been fascinated by how we use bikes to get around, and now I get to explore it in-depth!

The project will have two main parts: the backend and the frontend.

For the backend, I’ll be using FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and SQLAlchemy to create a solid system for crunching the numbers and making sense of the data. I’m planning to deploy it with Heroku, Docker, and GitHub Actions, so everything runs smoothly and can handle many users.

As for the frontend, I haven’t nailed down the exact tech yet, but the idea is to build something that’s super interactive and easy to use, so you can see all the cool insights about bike usage in our city.
