Getting the job is a major accomplishment, it can sometimes be a difficult process from writing a CV to surviving a grueling interview process. However the struggles of starting the new job is often disregard. After all it is the next big step in your career. With a new job comes a lot of change, such as a new commute, new colleagues and a new set of expectations. In order to ensure a strong start, you will have to adapt quickly. Here are some of our top tips for ensuring you settle in quickly:
- Getting to Know the Job- You don’t want to seem inadequate for the job, but at the same time, learning the job and doing the work correctly is very important. Get to know who to approach when you need guidance. This is mostly likely to be your supervisor as well as other knowledgeable employees. Lastly, be sure to ask for clarification if you need it.
- Get To Know the Team- As soon as you arrive at the new job, new faces, names, and jobs fly at you. It will be virtually impossible to learn them all in the first day, but you want to be sure to learn them as soon as possible. Making friends and getting to know the people you work with helps to fit into the office culture as well. Dig a little beyond the surface to learn what others take an interest in and let others get to know you without becoming too personal.

- Your recruiter is your friend-If your new job is a contract position, have your recruiter’s number on hand. Give him or her a call if you are going to be late or if there’s a problem on the job.
