Ten years after my first real sales job, I am starting from scratch. What an incredibly humbling experience. No matter how many inspirational quotes you see or uplifting articles you read, I will be honest, starting a new job is scary.
After nine years with Marcus Evans (www.marcusevans.com) traveling the world with people I love and selling a product I deeply believe in, it was difficult for me to believe I could find another company I feel as deeply about. When you sell an extremely premium product for a market leader, it's a unique challenge to find another product that you can apply that same passion to.
My personal thought is that the age old adage; "the grass is always greener on the other side" is pure nonsense. I find that it is unfortunately rare for most people to find a job that they love in the first place. If you've landed on green grass once, it seems unlikely that you'd be that blessed a second time around. I am humbled and grateful to say that I've stumbled upon an equally green opportunity at British advertising agency PHMG (www.phmg.com).
On Friday I was performing a job that I'd reached expert status at. Today, I was learning a new sales process, new product features, and a new company culture with wide eyes and an open mind. It is scary but extremely exciting. It is humbling but an amazing new challenge. Most importantly, the grass is just as green as I'd imagined and I can hardly wait to invest in the continued growth of this amazing brand.
PHMG is an extremely innovative company offering bespoke audio branding. Did that make any sense to you? No problem - watch this short video and you'll be blown away https://homepage.phmg.com/#youtubeOverlay
I want to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues at Marcus Evans. My many years of training and experience will, no doubt, allow me to achieve great success in my new position. Leaving my wonderfully supportive clients was one of the most difficult elements in my decision to move on.
Special thank you to people like Dusty Rhodes, David Strubberg, Joe Leary, Mike Mosher, Jim Griffin, Randy Boeding, Jeff Barker, Leonard Schooler, Jeff Wilson, Mark Vanderheuval, Alex George, Kris Zadlo, Bob Taylor, Dick Brandt, Larry Martin, Chris Carey, Garth Forde, Jeff McKinney, Stan Lister, Eric Gerstein, John Bridson, Bruce Carpenter, Alan Davidson, Randy Richardson, Kyle Neidermiere, Todd Weintraub, Drew Rankin and the many other clients who always had a bit of advice, a kind word, and continually trusted me to exceed their expectations.
I encourage you to take a 30 seconds to familiarize yourself with the concept audio branding because it truly is the next evolution in branding. By expertly blending creative copy, world-class voice artistry and brand-matched music, PHMG has transformed the caller experience for more than 22,000 clients in 39 countries across the globe – introducing a valuable new facet to their business identity. We're proud to say we scored an outstanding client satisfaction rate of 98.5%. Any questions I can be reached at [email protected]
