Starting from Nothing- How your Written Content can Bring the World to your Feet

Starting from Nothing- How your Written Content can Bring the World to your Feet

You could have an image, and be completely mesmerised by its ability to tell a story. The way you feel when you look at it, or the colours that distract your vision and keep your eyes from wondering abroad. An image is a powerful thing.

But, when you have an image, that’s all you have. An image that evokes emotion. An image that evokes interest. Powerful; simple.

Compare this to a story. A written story.

One that is written as a blog, as a caption, as a post or article in print media. You can start with a pen, and create a movement of ideas that starts as an article and finishes as a podcast.

Which then transforms from a podcast, to a series of PDF documents.

Which then transforms from PDF documents, to social media posts that promote brand.

Which then transforms from socials, to simple quotes that promote your values.

Written content starts from nothing, and can bring the whole world to your feet. Here’s how you can do just that;

1.     Start Small

If you grab a pen, and have no idea where to start. This is for you! Start small. Why have you picked up the pen? What are your business objectives? What are you trying to do by writing an article or blog? It could be that you’re telling your audience about your event, or a moment that you had with an influencer.

It could be that you feel strongly about a topic of interest, and need to put your thoughts out into the world so that they can provide a foundation for growth and understanding.

Whatever the reason, start small. Small is the beginning of exceptional.

2.     Your Knowledge is an Opportunity

Once you know the ‘why’, understand that YOU are the WHO. Back yourself, and use your knowledge as an opportunity to identify avenues that you can use to promote and produce fresh content.

If the fourth paragraph of your blog appeals to a wider audience base, take out the best sentence and turn it into a social media caption. Use the most powerful word of that sentence as a one-worded quote to capture attention, and encourage subjective thinking.

Your knowledge is the stepping stone to creating something from nothing. Yours. Not anyone else! Use it!

3.     Try Again

Successful content creation doesn’t have an end. That’s why we, as a society, question its importance. Once you have written a blog that has provided a copious amount of flow-on content, you need to try again. And again. And again.

Have your objective and goals as the focal point of your ideas, and try again. There’s never a right or wrong. Keep transforming your own written content into various different mediums that encourage, entice and excite your target audience.

You’re here to start conversations. Try again.

4.     Feel it. HARD

There is absolutely no point in writing or creating content if you do not believe in what you’re writing. If you’re posting for the sake of it, there’s a high risk that your content will be ill-received by your audience. Authenticity plays a strong role in capturing attention. If it isn’t there, your content is lost amongst the masses.

Feel what you’re writing. Feel your purpose, and partner it with passion. That way, you will always end up where you need to be… and so will your audience.
