??? Building in public
This winter our R&D team has been hard at work building new features to help teams drive innovation outcomes faster. Here’s what’s new:
??? Project and portfolio images - Now you can personalize any project or portfolio in Productable by setting a thumbnail image. Choose from a gallery of default images or upload your own!
?? Project list improvements - We’ve enhanced the project list view with skimmable indicators of project status and state, making it easier to know what’s happening across your portfolio. Visit any portfolio and click the Projects tab to see what’s new.
?? Bulk import improvements - We’ve added a “Resolution State” field to the bulk import modal so you can easily indicate which projects have already been off-ramped, completed, or terminated. You can also create custom fields for multiple projects at once by adding those fields as column headers in a CSV upload.
??? Project field history - Now any time someone makes changes to a project’s fields, those updates will appear in the Activity feed for that project, making it easier for teams to track and contextualize project data over time.
?? Improved portfolio visualization - We’ve updated the portfolio page to more clearly showcase the number of projects in each stage of development. See where projects are stalled so you can take action on what matters most.

?? Nudge project members - Now you can request a status update on a project in one click. Visit the projects tab of any portfolio in Productable, navigate to the Last Update column, and click “Send nudge” to remind the members of a specific project to share their progress.
? Stage duration - We’ve added a “Duration” column to the project list view in Productable so you can easily see how many days projects have spent in their current stage. If you’ve set an expected duration for a stage, you will see actual/expected duration in the projects table. If a project exceeds its expected stage duration, sub-portfolio owners and project members will get an automatic notification so everyone stays on track.

New teammate spotlight
We’re thrilled to welcome Jeff Adling to the Productable team. As a Dedicated Success and Transformation Lead, Jeff will coach, train, and collaborate with Airmen globally to facilitate the transformation of their ideas into tangible outcomes.
Jeff enlisted in the Air Force in 2002 from Dallas, Texas, and later earned a commission through Officer Training School in 2006. Over the course of his diverse career, he held key roles as a communications technician, logistics officer, inspector general, and special operations instructor pilot with over 2,000 flying hours in the PC-12, MQ-1, and MQ-9. As a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt, he channeled his passion for organizational behavior and problem-solving into unlocking the potential of diverse teams, addressing even the most challenging issues. Jeff is also an experienced innovation coach, utilizing the science of storytelling to empower Airmen in advocating for their solutions. His distinguished career in the Air Force culminated with his retirement in March 2022.
Prior to joining the Productable team, Jeff held the position of Air Force Special Operations Command Master Process Officer at Hurlburt Field, FL. In this capacity, he spearheaded the implementation of continuous improvement and innovation throughout AFSOC.
Jeff said, “At the heart of my decision to join Productable is my firm belief that innovation is the key to future military success, even more crucial than its demonstrated significance in industry. I've witnessed firsthand how a culture that swiftly and reliably transforms grassroots ideas into distinct advantages can redefine readiness and opportunity.”
Welcome, Jeff!

Happy 2024! ?? It sounds like you're on the cutting edge of innovation, which makes me think of a quote by Albert Einstein: “Innovation is not the product of logical thought, even though the final product is tied to a logical structure.” Keep pushing the boundaries! ?? And speaking of innovation, Treegens is thrilled to share an upcoming sponsorship opportunity for the Guinness World Record of Tree Planting, a project that embodies innovation for the planet. ??
