Start your week right.
Sunday wind downs, to most, are difficult times because just when your body, mind and soul are getting in the state of relaxation when it dawns on you that Monday is around the corner and relaxation or fun times are almost over, at least for the moment. Well, this is a cycle we will have to deal with for a long time till the world order changes. You can start your week right with the right mental attitude and motivation. As the old saying goes, when you fail to plan, you plan to fail, planning and organizing effectively is key to having a great start in your week.
Shut down on your work responsibilities on Saturday- And that’s if you signed a contract that binds you to work on weekends if the need arises, hopefully, the need doesn't come up. But try to leave work out of your weekends, make sure to mute emails, text or calls from work and if by chance you go through your mails, prioritize what should be attended to and what can wait till Monday morning. You must take the weekend off to rest and revive for the next work week.
Take your sleep serious over the weekends, because experiments have shown that when you don’t get enough sleep, your moods are not stable and you are least productive. So make sure to get as much sleep as possible, on some weekends try to sleep for 10 hours. Trust me it always gets the job done and your body and mind spry. Your inner man should not be left out, take time to read a passage or chapter of a book that speaks to your spirit man- this could be the Bible to some, to some motivational books, the Quran etc. And if you don’t feel the need to read you can listen to audiobooks or podcasts that still achieve the same goal of speaking to your inner man and at the same time motivating you for the coming week.
Writing down your to-do list should be one of your weekend rituals. Writing down your goals or to-do list will help you realize that the more you pen down your thoughts that come to mind, the more you remember with no hassle and this has scientific backing. Your to-do list helps you with noting what you have to do, where you are going and how you hope to get there. It is your road map for the new week, the list is subject to change as time goes by. Finally, if next week is going to be big, make sure to come prepared. Do your homework and you will be ready to start your week on a high note.
