It Starts With You

In a few of my other blog posts, I have highlighted the importance of struggles concerning achieving one's goals. Like sandpaper to a rough piece of wood, struggles smooth and sheen us out. Coupled in importance alongside struggles are the ideas that are the seeds at the beginning of any endeavour. No matter how small, these seeds need to be nurtured and fanned like flames, for we do not know what fire may come from them.

Everything that any human has ever done has started as an idea. First, it took someone to think about something big or small. Once that idea has been thought of, the ideator will try and communicate that idea to another person. This moment is crucial in the ideation process. The indifference shown to that ideator could leave them dismayed and unmotivated to effectuate their idea. The better version is that when the idea is communicated, it is met with openness and not hostility, and that first idea seed gets watered and sprouted.

So often, brilliant ideas are left on the cutting room floor because someone discourages them. Sometimes that someone is our self. With so much information at our disposal and so many stories chronicling the exploits of successful people, the practice of making something out of oneself can seem a behemoth task, so why even try?

With the current climate in our country economically, I firmly believe that the primary source of respite will come from individuals who have ideas, no matter how big or crazy they may seem. I have said it before, and I will say it a few more times, entrepreneurs are the ones who will drag this country forward to where it needs to be. Therefore, we need to enable and provide them with resources that will allow them to be the best they can be. These will disrupt the market and open the tap for new jobs in emerging industries and thus create jobs for generations to come. The only thing we can do as an entrepreneurial ecosystem in this country is provide as much support as possible to any ideator.

At Entreprenerdy, we have created an entrepreneurship support program with precisely this in mind. “It Starts With You” is specifically designed to enable any individual from any background in this country that has a business idea, not been effectuated yet, and help them to flesh out and develop it. We aim to highlight how vital any societal serving business idea is and exemplify that with the right amount of care and resources; any idea can be developed, no matter how big or small.

I'd like to let you know that correspondence about the application to the program will soon follow. We at Entreprenerdy are excited to present this program to all the dreamers and crazy ones, and we cannot wait to collaborate with all the applicants.

In line with this, I will end by saying that whenever anyone comes to you with their business idea, do not harshly pick holes in it and shine a bright light on its flaws. Instead, treat that business idea like a seed. Imagine all of the advice and recommendations you give are like sun and water that will help the seed to sprout and grow. So let us all, entrepreneurs and enablers, be enthusiastic about helping each other.
