START THE YEAR WITH A NEW IDEA!

New Year, new you?? Here's an idea - start 2025 with a brilliant business habit!
We’ll be having a laugh with Clown ANGIE WAKEMAN, who says there’s a clown in each and every one of us.? ?
And we shine the CR38IVES spotlight on Adaptive Fashion Designer KAT PAYLOR-BENT, who will be presenting her first collection at London Fashion Week!?

Forget about New Year resolutions.? Start 2025 with an IDEAS BANK!?

“When coming up with ideas to boost your career or build your business, most are put to one side,” says Creative Business Strategist Jodie Newman .? “Some are not quite on brief, not quite on-brand, too expensive to implement, or too wild for right now.”

But the trick is to SAVE your ideas!

?? Get into the habit of capturing ALL your ideas before they fall out of your head - no matter how mundane, obvious or outlandish - and keep them somewhere safe.??Use a simple Excel spreadsheet, or a notice board with Post-Its, or make a list on your phone or in a notebook, or pop your ideas into an actual piggy bank!

?? Get in the habit of searching your ideas bank when you have a challenge to solve. ?Ideas previously deposited in the bank will give you new inspiration, other ideas, and perhaps even the perfect solution.“

Saving ideas in the bank will not always attract future interest, but I can guarantee healthy interest - and some will pay handsome dividends and a return on your creative investment!” says Jodie.(Don’t panic, there are no more banking gags, she’s chequed)...??

Creative Business Strategist JODIE NEWMAN runs?THE BUSINESS ALLOTMENT, putting ideas into the heart of her clients’ companies.? She firmly believes that great ideas drive business growth, and that?creativity is critical in business.

KAT'S FIRST COLLECTION!

Kat Paylor-Bent is the owner of SEATED SEWING UK, an adaptive fashion studio based in Durham in the northeast of England.? It provides bespoke outfits for the disabled community, and Kat has often been urged to do her own collection.? She’s now announced that she is doing just that!

Her first collection will be revealed on the cat walk at LONDON FASHION WEEK?during the ‘Future of Fashion Show’ on the 22nd?of February.

Kat says the collection will be fun but functional, playful but practical - and will include an adapted range of casual wear outfits to party pieces and formal attire for both children and adults.?

“I’m petrified!” says Kat.? “It’s something we’ve never done before.? But we’re also really excited.? ??It’s the first time my ideas and thoughts are being put out there.? Little old me from Durham!”

You can book tickets to see Kat's collection here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/future-of-fashion-show-tickets-1060972369919

A surprised looking Kat Paylor-Bent is featured on the left of the image, wearing glasses and a greeny-blue patterned scarf around her neck. On the right of the image are parts of two garments, one featuring the SEATED SEWING logo of a needle and thread and the other featuring the name of the company in Braille.

Another milestone for Kat is that SEATED SEWING UK has recently become the first British fashion studio to commercially offer Braille on its clothing!?

Besides providing a description of the colour and style of each item in Braille, the company also offers its clients the option of having their company name, logo or slogan placed anywhere on an outfit.? This is achieved by using hot stones or embroidery to make a raised texture that Braille readers can read.
