Start working towards your dreams

Recently I came across an old TED talk, titled ‘Inside the mind of a procrastinator,’ by a guy called Tim Urban. He used an entertaining story about a monkey to describe procrastination. But that’s not what caught my interest. It was the last slide in his presentation:

The side image is your life in weeks. Every single week that you will be alive, if you live to the age of 90. It reminds me of all the times I have counted down days on a calendar. Crossing each one off with a large red ‘X’. One step closer to the big day. That scares me. But what scares me even more, is contemplating how many of these boxes we waste. Time we spend dreaming about doing something meaningful in our life, but never taking action. The big dream to go traveling, but never booking a ticket.The dream to start a business, but never building up the courage to start.

The dream to have a great body, but never being motivated to go workout. The dream to succeed in college, but not having the willpower to study. The dream to be wealthy, but not having the discipline to build it. The dream to get married, but never being brave enough to commit.

The dream to have a loving family, but never taking time off work. The dream to help other people, but never letting go of your self-interest. The dream to become a leader, but never having the self-belief to try. Everything can always be done tomorrow, until it can’t. Life feels like we have no deadline, but in truth, it’s the biggest of them all. Start working towards your dreams, because those boxes are running out. 40:40:20 rule in life. Whatever you do give 40% of your time to your work, 40% to your family and friends and rest 20% to yourself. Always have a balance in life between work, family and self. This is the secret to happiness.

Our thoughts are our demons that reside within us. And all thoughts are the same and there is nothing like a good or a bad thought. (Please read Eckart Tolle's The Power of Now). When the music is played and we we are immersed in the music, there is no thought. Absence of thought is bliss. As the thoughts cease, the body starts healing itself. When we apply a pain balm on our forehead, the burning sensation created by the balm stops the thought process. And as thoughts recede auto-healing takes place. Music, Massage and all touch therapy work on this principle.

It never sounds good when men apologise! If you need to apologise please do it with your actions. Beautiful women are everywhere. Confident, fit & successful men are rare. You’re the prize. If you think running away from responsibility will give you freedom , you’re in for a surprise. Try to push back & do something you love, something that’s relaxing, but energizing. Live with an abundance mindset. Getting eight hours sleep can also have a noticeable effect. Try to get into a healthy sleeping routine.

Stop sharing gossip & negativity. Nobody likes a garbage truck. Don’t overindulge. Be as concise as possible. That’ll remove any confusion & your boundaries will remain intact. Decide to persist until you succeed , no matter what happens , for a big win in life. Humility is a key factor for anyone who wishes to climb the ladder of success. A lot of conflict would be avoided if we were more upfront about how we’re feeling in life, Just Chill.!! Cheers!
