Introduction

A star takes millions of years to form...not overnight. Kind of like a start-up.

We live in a society in which celebrities seem to ‘appear,’ chains pop-up on popular avenues, fads are featured on facebook. It’s as if there were a magic wand and well-branded entities could wish themselves into existence. Maybe for some folks, this sort of manifestation magic works. That would be totally awesome. For me, though, bringing my dreams to life has taken, well, my life. Everything has brought me to here and now. And even if we could take a scalpel and just carve out the B2B-SaaS related bit, the origin story would still start years ago.

?Which is why I’m going to share some of it with you.

?Because I don’t think I’m alone here. I think lots of my fellow entrepreneurs would love to know what’s going on behind the scenes; in fact, the idea for this series came from an inquiring colleague (@ErikQuigley). I also think my customers would like to know what kind of business they’re dealing with. And I believe that we’re all here to help each other. Otherwise, why are there so many of us on this planet and wtf are we doing? Really.

?Speaking of planets, I have enough in my sign of Sagittarius to make this series an honest and open look. ‘Cause, when a star is born, it’s not about glitz and glamour. It’s not a sleek and sexy podcast that is fabulous all at once. It’s a dynamic, evolving, co-creative process that eeks and churns and results in something magnificent that shines its light for a really long time... or lots of dust.

?Maybe it’s a process that you’re already part of. Maybe not. But, if so, my hope is that – by glimpsing my journey – it helps wisen yours.
