I’m a huge fan of tools that can give more clarity on my goals and help with planning ahead. But I wasn’t always so excited about looking ahead. When I was younger, I felt like a lot of things were out of my control. It was like I was living in a constant disaster, and I couldn’t plan beyond that week or month.
Unexpected events always seemed to get in my way of achieving my goals. Like my mom getting laid off her job, then my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, then I got laid off my job that paid for tuition – all during my senior year in college.
Those events taught me a lot about resilience and optimism despite having many challenges and life events. Even weirder was the sense of gloom and doom that stayed with me for many years afterward despite everything heading in a positive direction. It was like I was just waiting for something to happen and uneventful periods in my life were too good to be true. ?
Even though we may not always be able to control what happens in life, it's important to reflect and stay open to what’s possible.
So, I want to share a simple and effective tool that has helped me act toward what I want to accomplish while also letting go of anything that is no longer serving me. It’s called Start-Stop-Continue . It’s a way to reflect and decide what things you should start, stop, and continue:
Get your copy of the Start-Stop-Continue worksheet by clicking here .
I’d also recommend using this worksheet as an action plan along with identifying your goals. For goal planning, I recommend checking out Michael Hyatt 's Full Focus program offerings. Hyatt provides very practical tools for goal-setting and other programs to help achieve, “Your Best Year Ever”.
Enjoy and be sure to share and thoughts or ways you like to plan and take action on achieving your goals.?
