Start Saying Yes to YOU!
We are programmed our entire lives to follow the status quo. The lesson was clear: do what everybody else does or face ridicule, disappointment, or failure. The pressure to reach the status quo is big even if said status quo isn't anything you have an interest in or perhaps capabilities. If you fall below, you won't be accepted or be able to hang with the "cool" kids.?
Who made up all these rules anyway? Each person has a unique set of DNA that matches no other person on this earth, making us true "individuals." Yet, society works very hard to standardize people and make us common. If you fall into what is considered "common" you're cool, but if you're uncommon - sorry, you don't get to participate. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be like everyone else. I prefer to be uncommon, unique, and specialized, making my value go way up! Like the retail supply and demand model, when you have an overabundance of the same thing, that value goes way down, but if you have a short supply of something uncommon, your value shoots sky high!??
It can be challenging to unlearn the habits of following the blueprint others designed for you. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to begin the journey to your soul:
Living for your true self isn't selfish; it's a gift to yourself and the people you impact daily.
Unleash your individuality and your marketplace will find you.
Letting your light shine can be scary, but I encourage you to lean into that fear. Unleash your individuality, and your marketplace will find you. You aren't for everyone, but you are for the right people, and that is enough! Create your playground and design your own life; you control your destiny.
