Start with Passion, End with Kindness.
Part 01: The Grand Opening
The Motion Plus Design event in Seoul is truly a blessing for artists, both locally and globally. There's an abundance of talented people in the motion design industry, but what really stands out is the passion you can feel during their presentations.
Even though I only know how to say "hello" and "thank you" in Korean and couldn't understand a single word of the speeches, the work I witnessed transcended language. Take Gryun Kim , for example—one of the most incredible motion design artists I've seen. His presentation was on another level. Who would have thought to structure their talk like an RPG game, using Unreal Engine to bring it to life? His creativity and passion were evident in both his speech and his work.
Then there was Haewon Shin , who not only shared helpful tips and tricks but humbly opened up about different stages of her career. Although I couldn't understand most of her talk, the few English keywords she used were enough to move me. It's clear she speaks from the heart.
Speaking of passion and talent, Hyunsup Ahn 's work left a profound impression on me. The project he created for the Motion Camp event was otherworldly. From concept to execution, every detail was perfectly crafted—not only catching the eye but also telling a meaningful story.

It wasn’t just the local Korean artists that made the event unforgettable. Legends from around the world shared their wisdom too. Maciej Kuciara , a pioneer in motion design and concept design, explained how he integrates AI into his workflow. He emphasized the importance of trusting the process and letting go—only then can you accomplish something truly big and beautiful.
And when it comes to motion design, how could we forget David Sheldon-Hicks from Territory Studio? His biggest takeaway was simple yet powerful: do what you truly love. I couldn’t agree more. Although motion design is a job, it’s the love for the craft that takes you from ordinary to extraordinary.
Finally, there's Nidia Dias , one of the most influential people in my career. Her work and journey have been a huge inspiration to me. What I learned from her is exactly what she said: "Give yourself permission to break the rules and try something totally unexpected." As I'm just starting my career, this will likely be my motto for a long time.
Give yourself permission to break the rules and try something totally unexpected.
Although each speaker delivered their content in unique ways, they all reignited the spark in my heart—the passion for motion design that I had lost during the tough times over the past few months. I hope to keep this fire burning, carry the passion with me throughout my motion design journey, and spread the love and joy to other fellow motion designers.
