Actually, the world we are leaving in is the world of self, where we want to be interesting but not interested. We are self-possessed which is the worst disease turn into jealousy, Autism, and depression. We are not ready to take other views and just want our point at the top, to be acknowledged which might not be the case always. if we want to get other attention, the first step should be taken by us to give attention to others. Anyone reading this article knows about the words I, my and me which are the worst self-obsessed words lead to the path of our own failure. And in teamwork, these words aren't worth using.

Yes, if you want to win others heart then have space for others, their concerns, and their interest if you are really want to be a lifelong friend. Otherwise, you might end up getting no result. It is the hard and fast rule that the company you are going to apply, friend you are going to make and audience you are going to speak with you have to have an interest in them by spending time with them not necessarily meeting in a hotel, coffee shop at least activities on social media. Just recently I have experienced the power of listening.
I am not a very talkative person and just want to be interesting and not be interested and you know what is the result of this attitude, this is zero networks.
- I recently had an internship at a company. As an intern giving ideas to other seniors acquiring their interest is difficult. So one day I thought why not to be interested instead of being self-obsessed? Why not asked about their concerns so maybe I can get attention. But seriously it looks stupid to me to gain someone attention but its the need of hours. So I remembered that day when I entered the meeting room luckily only senior colleage close to me was there alone and as I entered greeted with him enthusiastically and then start asking about him, his planning about career, his family, siblings, what they do, I asked about his interest, and everything was going smoothly and even he explain me the things which I do not require. Just after that the same day a rapport happened between us and even he talked the whole day with me and that was a wonderful experience.
- Then I didn’t stop this same day I took another step toward being interested instead of interesting. It had been two weeks of my internship and I was confused no one helped me and talked with me actually this was due to my mentality of being interesting. So the same day my Senior colleague came into the meeting room and I asked her for my assistance once or two times and she helped but not as expected. Then that day I started talking to her about her degree, from which institute she got her degree, about her experiences, challenges in and she response me but not in sentences but in words like yes, it was cool. But consequences of this happened just after some time when my manager came over there with some notes for my preparation and she said to the Manager I have more easy notes in hard copy, and she shared with me. And she made me realize as if she has an attachment with me. That was again a good experience.
So this is where a year before I came to realize what it means to network, how it is developed and how it can help you. Listening and giving importance to others opinion is the first condition but that doesn't mean don't argue on something you don't agree with, giving importance to other opinion means to engage on someone opinion, counsel over it, talk about it, give alternatives to add further value in his/her opinion.
