Welcome to the first edition of my newsletter! I'm glad you're here. ??

Having built PreSales Academy and supported hundreds of people through transformative career changes, I’ve developed a passion for helping individuals find, start, and advance in careers that they genuinely enjoy.

That’s what I aim to do with this newsletter…

I’ve had a wonderful career in Tech that I couldn’t be more grateful for. I’ve built and led teams at multiple highly successful SaaS companies, followed by founding PreSales Collective and PreSales Academy .

I am a first-generation-American born to low-income immigrant parents. Growing up, I didn't have much - no connections, no trust fund, and no career direction or guidance. Despite being an underdog my entire life, I worked hard and found success in the Tech industry. Tech has provided me with opportunity and a life that I never could have imagined growing up.?

Now, I'm committed to helping others achieve success through careers in Tech.

It's been an amazing journey so far, but I've come to realize that what gives me the most energy is supporting others in achieving their career goals. Often, this means reinventing yourself and making a significant career pivot towards a better career.

I'm excited to share everything I've learned throughout my career to assist you in yours.

This newsletter is for you if:

I’ll wrap this first edition with a powerful story:

Last Friday, we were able to celebrate an individual I’ve been working with for a few months who landed an incredible job offer for his first Sales Engineering role. (we’ll share publicly soon - it just happened)

I love this story because it wasn’t an easy road - he had to overcome a lot of rejection.

In fact, he finished multiple final stage interviews but didn’t get the offer - only to barely lose out to a more experienced, or internal, candidate.

Most people would give up. He didn’t. He stayed positive and kept pushing forward - on to the next opportunity.

Here are a few RARE things he did that made him stand out:

• Sent relevant, value-add “check-ins” to the hiring team (manager, recruiter, influencers, etc.) *more on this approach in an upcoming newsletter
• Sent pre- and post-interview emails to the interviewers (candidates rarely do both) after every interview
• He meticulously prepared for his interviews and worked with me and his mentors to validate his approach, reviewed the questions he would ask, and did multiple dry-runs of his presentation/demo
• He built relationships and asked for referrals

The takeaway: don’t let rejection discourage you, it’s simply part of the process.

It takes rejection and failure to learn, adjust, and ultimately get to your destination (the job offer!!)

If you’re excited about a role - go after it! Even if you don’t have past experience in that role.

Develop a solid strategy, put in the work to prep, stay with it, and you will get what you want.
