Start of the Esperto platform - The Five States of Success

On a certain day back in 2018, I received a call from Brendan Foley, author of best selling book The 5 States of Success: Create meaningful success in your career, business & life and founder of SeaChange Now. Brendan had been searching for a long time already to find a tool he could use to prepare for his coaching sessions. He explored SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics and others, but nothing could help him to generate a personalised report and manage the process of inviting his clients' teams.

The 5 States of Success

After many years in the Executive Coaching business and having led competitive sailing teams, Brendan wanted to capture the essence of what creates ‘meaningful success’ -that's the type of success that makes you happy, healthy and wealthy. There seemed to be 5 States that occurred in winning people and teams. A 'state' was defined as a mindset and skillset that combine to create a powerful quality that supports the creation of success and high performance.

Brendan went onto write a book the 5 States of Success which became an amazon.co.uk number 1 bestseller in the business and careers category. Working with Eric and Marco at Esperto we created the 5 States of Success Assessment which has now helped hundreds of people and teams to succeed. They are very responsive and very invested in the success of the tool. We continually evolve the assessment and this year are launching version 2 which sees an update question set, design and new coaching advice. It really is an essential part of our business.

A new platform went into development

What Brendan required wasn't completely on our shelf yet. Collecting the data was easy, and Marco was great at developing a dynamic report generator and designing it with Brendan's input. But much more was needed: a way to manage the members of the clients' teams, to invite them, send reminders and a way for Brendan to generate and download their reports.

It wasn't core to my previous company, but we loved the idea and working with Brendan, so we started the development. We didn't yet see how much potential there was in this product, but we did have a feeling it could be useful for experts in many different categories and fields of knowledge. And we were right, as you will read in the articles in the coming weeks, where I will share about many of our other cooperations.
