start at the beginning
What I’ve always appreciated about Coaching is how the person being?coached has the full focus of attention on them yet.. there’s no pressure.
When we first come into Coaching, we can be uncertain about where to begin. My response to this dilemma is to simply suggest you start at the beginning and end when you’ve nothing else to say. Sometimes, this task can take up the entire first session and it always proves to be time well spent.
My first experience at the receiving end of Coaching surprised me because there were no assumptions made about what I was feeling which was a relief.
During our conversation I was able to express my feelings and concerns at my own pace and in my own time. ?The conversation with the coach during that session gave me focus and clarity on what I wanted to get out of the sessions. New insights were coming out of everything we talked about.
Sharing what’s going on with us ..our ideas, our concerns... and getting input on that, puts the spotlight on our fears. It brings our thoughts into perspective as we hear ourself speak about them out loud.
Coaching offers an opportunity for self growth…listening, talking, challenging our preconceptions, discovering a way forward and following it.
