Stars Leadership Team Meets with Nashville Sports Council
Nashville Stars Baseball Club
Deeply rooted in Tennessee’s rich baseball history, we are committed to bringing Major League Baseball to Music City.
Broadening the?Nashville?Stars' presence in the Music City marketplace, members of the leadership team met with the Nashville Sports Council Board of Directors on Tuesday night.
Managing director John Loar and Stars Board Members Dave Stewart and Eddie George spoke during the meeting at SiriusXM Theater inside Bridgestone Arena, providing an update on the group’s progress. The trio discussed a variety of topics, centering on the development of the Nashville Stars brand and the vital partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, especially as the Negro Leagues legacy is a major part of the Stars brand. In addition, the group emphasized the importance of developing a diverse ownership group, which the Stars have prioritized from its inception.
“We are extremely thankful to have been invited to speak to the Board on Tuesday,” said Stewart, who is leading the Diverse Equity Ownership Initiative for the Stars. “It is important for us to have an open dialogue with leaders in the Nashville sports industry to let them know where we are in the process.”
This was an important conversation for the Stars, one that we look forward to having with other groups in the area as we continue our work to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville.
