Santa was doing his daily chores in the washroom. The soap slipped from his hands and landed on the floor. Santa went down to pick the soap. He was taken aback. It was a disgusting site. A piece of iron all covered with thick yellowish rust with sharp edges was hanging there, just below the wash basin. The rust was giving a scary feeling that a touch could infect anyone. Reality is believed perception.
Santa started thinking that how this piece of iron would have landed in his washroom. This must be a conspiracy. Santa knew that there were people who wanted him down. But he did not anticipate that they will come to this level. Most surprisingly, these people had access to his private washroom. Santa immediately panicked. There was nothing safe out there. Santa immediately rushed out for a safe haven. Anticipated fears create strong perceptions.
Santa requested Banta to investigate the breach. Banta went and picked up the sharp rusted piece of iron. After rust was removed, Banta could see a shattered star behind it. Banta recognized the star. They spotted the star in an art gallery almost a year back. It was a rare artifact. Star had brought good luck to all the people, who owned it earlier. Santa did fight with Banta to own the star for his collection. Banta knew that Santa was going through a rough phase. Hence Banta withdrew his bid. Santa did pay an exotic amount for the star.
You know your true value when you are in the market.
Banta was amused that how the star landed up in the washroom that too in such a bad condition. Banta went to Santa with his findings. Santa recognized the star. Santa remembered that star did bring him good luck. Santa secured few contracts because market reputation of Santa improved significantly as he owned the star. In fact Santa started believing that his day goes well if he sees Star in the morning. Belief and Faith come easy when time is bad.
Santa experimented couple of times to verify whether star effect is a myth or a reality. Whenever Santa missed the star, his day was average. This strengthened the belief of Santa in the star. Santa decided to place star where star could not be missed. The best place was washroom. He placed the star in the washroom. Days passed by. Things were good. Santa was busy travelling. Star lost the daily attention. But Santa did not remember putting the star under the washbasin. Belief and Faith in others fade with advent of Self Belief.
Peter remembered that once while cleaning the washroom, he found the star lying on the washroom floor. Peter picked the star and hanged it under the washbasin. The star came in direct touch of water droplets under the washbasin. This was the start of the end of star. Start of end comes silently.
Star prayed every day that once it should come in line of sight of Santa. Star believed that once Santa sees the star, Star will get its glory back. Star was taken aback because Santa did not even recognize star. Star was devastated. Santa also did not want to see the face of Star. Star was thrown in garbage. Expectations are like one sided love.
This happens a lot with the Star talent in the industry. Good part is that talent has an option of moving out before it is placed in a washroom or hanged below the washbasin. Somehow the realization of hanging around does come late because life is comfortable and rust is not visible to self.
Check for rust, if you are comfortable.

8 å¹´Talent must pay the price.. It must and it does.. Look all around..Even the winners in a reality show.. You will always find the best talent losing. I think the talented are more keen to see their talent utilised. If someone picks them up and recognises, fine else they live pretty comfortably with themselves. It's not about rust. They don't get rusted. It is only they are not able to see the layers of rust in the hearts and minds of those smiling faces who create a fantastic illusion of being well -wishers. Because they are focused only on their performance, on their output, on their habit of going beyond themselves. Thanks Harjeet Kanduja for an interesting write.. RS
