Standing for the USPS
Consistent with my “Purposeful Politics”
For most of my life, I considered myself to be non-political. Politics just didn’t interest me. Then the TV show, West Wing, came along and I starting seeing a new possibility for myself. It has since emerged as the distinction, purposeful politics. Essentially this means that our political leanings can be shaped by our life purpose (once we know what that purpose is) just as much as the rest of our lives. My life purpose is to live a life of purposeful, passionate, and playful service, simplicity, and spiritual serenity.
This morning, Argos (my pup not pictured) and I were a demonstration of 2 in front of the post office that has served my family for over 26-years. I found it more challenging to sit there with my sign than I thought it would be, but then I remembered the distinction, ‘being fearless,’ from the Landmark Worldwide Breakthrough seminar I’m in. Sometimes you just have to take a stand for something you believe in. I believe in our USPS.
This service has made a difference in millions of people's lives with its roots dating back to 1775 when Benjamin Franklin was appointed our first Postmaster General. It also provides employment to over 600,000 citizens. No, it’s not perfect but it is essential to maintaining our democracy especially during these challenging times. Let’s not make it a political piece to be jerked around by either party. I stand for and with the USPS. Will you join me?
