THEME: STANDING STRONG IN FAITH.
FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE:
? Isaiah 36:7 ?
"But if you say to me, ‘We trust in The LORD our God,’ isn’t He the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before this altar’?
STARTOFF PRAYERS:
1. Forgiveness and Cleansing: LORD, I confess my sins and shortcomings. Forgive me for where I have fallen short of Your glory and heal me, in Jesus Christ's Name.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
2. Invite The Holy Spirit to help you.:
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”
Romans 8:26
3. Cover yourself, loved ones and your environment with The Blood of Christ:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
INTRODUCTION :
In Isaiah 36:7, we see a challenge to the faith of God's people. The enemy sought to undermine their trust in God by pointing out the disgraceful changes in their worship practices. However, this verse reminds us of the importance of standing strong in our faith, especially during times of challenge. Fasting and praying are vital practices that fortify our spirits, enabling us to remain steadfast in our trust in God’s promises and power.
In moments of struggle, we need to remember the importance of standing firm in our faith. Hezekiah rejected false altars to stand with his God, and you…which altars of this world have you not been able to reject? Today, we are called to fortify ourselves in God, through prayer and fasting. Our faith must be unshaken, as we trust in God's promises and power. Through fasting and prayer, we remove distractions, turning our hearts back to God, ensuring we stand strong in His power.
As we engage in this first Friday fasting and prayer of this year, let us focus on building a deep faith, breaking spiritual strongholds, and seeking God's intervention in our lives and communities. Our commitment to fasting and prayer is a testimony to our unwavering faith and dependence on God’s strength. Amen.
