There are so many great writers out and about on the social media platforms I make use of for my marketing purposes, so I need to do my bit to make sure I'm standing out and setting myself apart from my peers.
Here are some fun* facts about my views on writing and language in general, should anyone be considering the option to hire me as a copywriter.
1. I swear. A lot. It is big, it is clever, and it is becoming of me.
2. I only like poetry if it rhymes (and isn't featured on a bloody Nationwide Building Society advert).
3. I admit I don't fully 'get' the difference between the active and the passive voice in grammar.
4. I really don't care about number 3. After all, it doesn't really matter if I ate the cake, or if the cake was eaten by me. Either way, I still have no cake.
5. Language evolution is ace, and one of my biggest ambitions is to get a new word in the Oxford English Dictionary by the time I'm 40.
6. An even bigger ambition is to never have to hear any bastardisation of the word 'entrepreneur' ever again. I dare you to call me a mumpreneur.
7. I like puns, sarcasm, coining new words and phrases, really dark humour, and using any excuse possible to get popular song lyrics into my writing.
8. I like big butts and I cannot lie.
9. I hate motivational quotes. Ironically, they make me want to kill myself.
10. In most social situations, my face says more than my words ever will.
How's that for standing out? Or have I just alienated myself from a whole host of potential new friends and clients?
You'll grow to love me, I promise.
*Subjective, I know.
