Standing In Is Just As Fun.

From early childhood we are taught to stand out in the crowd, this automatically puts a hierarchy in place, standing in is inferior to standing out. If everyone stands out in the crowd, who will make up the crowd?
When someone says he or she enjoys being part of the crowd, away from the limelight with people paying little attention to them they do so not because they are modest but because they really get the joy in being standing in, for them standing out is not in any way superior to be standing in.
I remember watching cricket in the 80s and 90's with very little live cricket being broadcast and no social media of course and seldom would you see players diving to take a catch, they just ran faster and took catches without falling, now with all the cameras in place players just dive for a straight forward catch because it looks good on tv.

Social media is the opium of the masses, most of us behave not how we would like to but in a manner that would generate maximum traction, this tendency just makes us look desperate.
In these times it's important to understand the joy of standing in, just being part of the crowd, just enjoying the everyday innocuous pleasures like having a quiet meal with family or being on a holiday where you just shun the camera.
Discovering the joy of standing in won't dawn upon anyone by reading a newsletter like this or words of wisdom from a sage, it's experiential in nature, it's like getting a completely new operating system for the brain which is bereft of man-made concepts, the new operating system only comes with meditation, maybe one can start by being still for 2 minutes and then take baby steps from there. Happy Meditating.
