The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.

The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.

The standard you walk past, is the standard you accept. One of my clients uses this saying all the time within their business, yet I think it applies just as much to our own personal lives.

First what are your standards, what do you accept and not accept from yourself? What standards have you let slide recently and what standards are you more focused on now then ever before?

The essence of this statement … the standard you walk past, is the standard you accept, to me means we accept a less than 100% commitment or effort or focus, this time around. We allow mediocrity to creep into our lives, we delay what we know is right for us to do. We neglect to address the obvious in our lives. The challenge is when we give 90% today, it becomes 80% tomorrow.

What standards have slipped in your life that you had placed on yourself to bring out the best in you? What standards do you need to create now to bring out the best in you? What one standard would be the catalyst that starts the evolution of you, for the unknown journey ahead?

WHAT STANDARDS HAVE SLIPPED IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU HAD PLACED ON YOURSELF TO BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOU?

You deserve to be the best version of you. You are worthy of your definition of success and you have the ability to dream great dreams and then make them come true.

Hi Keith Abraham CSP, This is one of my favourite axioms, not just because it was made prominent by an Australia Army Officer when dealing with a very ugly set of behaviours but because standards can be used as a signpost to indicate if we are sliding back into old habits. The key to improvement on a personal level & in business is being able to find what is needed to raise the standard to the next level, see at a glance if you are above or below standard. Then take the appropriate action to maintain the new standard in reediness for the next step up. Scot Harris
