This standard will be use to show compliance with the Web Accessibility Directive.
The standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services was published yesterday by European Telecommunications Standards Institute and will soon be published by by the other European Standards Organisations (European Committee for Standardization and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization). Our ICT and standardisation experts were and continue being involved in the development of this crucial standard for accessible technologies.
This standard will be used as a tool to show compliance with the Web Accessibility Directive. For website and mobile applications, this technical document incorporates the latest accessibility requirements for web and mobile accessibility developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1
As a reminder, Member States have until the 23rd September to transpose the directive to their national law.
