Stand Upon the Rock
Come to the Lord, turn your attentions to Him. Seek understanding through Him and let His wisdom guide. We are blind, but our Lord sees all. Therefore, we can trust His direction.
The ways of darkness are devious and infiltrate with surprising ease, confusing reality until we’re deeply imbedded. When our eyes are opened and we’re far from where we expected to be, lost and afraid, we are not stuck, we who turn our eyes to the Lord. For you see, God uses what darkness intends for evil for His purposes and to bring light in ways we never can expect.
If you’ve found yourself in such a difficult situation, turn your eyes to the Lord. Sense His presence, seek His help, and watch Him work. His ways are miraculous and shine a light in the darkness, filling us with hope and joy in the face of evil’s taunting.
When a house is built on a foundation of rock and a torrent rises against it, beating violently with counterfeit strength, the house will not be shaken, because its strength is in its foundation.
No matter how far astray we may find ourselves when our eyes are opened, calling upon the Lord, turning our attentions to Him, and seeking His wisdom and direction brings the true strength of the solid Rock once more beneath our feet.
May God bless you and be your strength.
God’s peace,
Rebecca
I don't consider myself a political person. I guess I believe that God is the leader and the One truly in control, not just in my country, but throughout the world. From personal experience, I know that whenever things seem bad, He's working behind the scenes. Yesterday's events in the US Capitol were distressing as they unfolded, but they led to a house that chose to stand regardless of the evil storm that battered against it. Divided it was falling, but ultimately it stood united. Though it seems relevant, the above encouragement isn't written specific to those events. As is true of much of God's leading, it speaks to people caught up in addiction, in dangerous relationships, in stealing or lying, in shameful behavior. Satan is seductive in his ways and leads us far from God so that when our eyes are opened, we feel moved beyond God's will and no longer deserving of His love. Don't be tricked by this counterfeit force. God's love is mighty, welcoming, and powerfully freeing.
