So many benefits
The footprint of a Stand-on mower like the Ferris? SRS? Z1 36“ (91 cm) is less than half of a traditional mower (94 cm width/162 cm length). Especially in the busy city center it is nowadays almost impossible to find a parking place for your bus and trailer. This type of mower, on the other hand, fits on or in almost all conceivable means of transport. Nevertheless, they achieve a higher cutting capacity compared to a conventional walk-behind mower or mowing tractor, especially when the terrain to be mown is littered with objects and obstacles that normally get in the way. Nevertheless, they achieve a higher cutting capacity compared to a conventional walk-behind mower or mowing tractor, especially when the terrain to be mown is littered with objects and obstacles that normally get in the way. The more obstacles to be overcome and the more complicated the situation on site, the greater the benefit to be gained from a Stand-on mower. The mower can be guided very precisely and thanks to its zero turn feature, almost every corner can be mowed. Also a walk-behind mower will hit the wall if it is mowed along a wall when turning with its handlebar (and your hand). Thanks to its narrow base, the SRS? Z1 36“ also fits through gates in public green areas and can thus also reach fenced terrain. Another great advantage is the rear discharge mower deck, which provides the mower with 2 trim sides, highly efficient on small plots and when obstacles such as trees or gravestones on cemeteries do not want to be damaged. Also, the risk of damage to parked cars due to stones being thrown away by a mower with side discharging mower deck is minimized thanks to this rear discharge conversion. The robust fabricated (welded, not pressed) mower deck comes with a factory installed baffle kit, enabling semi-mulching, so no need to dispose clippings. Down-town city center there will be frequent kerbing to reach small roadsides and verges . This is only possible if the rear wheel axle is positioned higher than the height of the kerb. Thanks to the large 23“ rear wheels the Ferris will not have difficulties to do so. Wide and large tyres reduce the ground pressure as well and in the occasion to get stuck in summery soil, a little push would usually be enough to get you up and running again.
Ergonomics and handling
The operator stands exactly between the rear wheels, creating the best center of gravity for a optimum traction. It also protects the operator from injuries caused by obstacles and e.g. protruding branches. Added to this is the better view of the mowing process. You not only have the entire mowing deck in front of you under control, but also the drive wheels are in lateral view. Since the 23 L.tank is in front of the operator, you will have a free view of the mowing deck and flat-free caster wheels. Other side-effects that matter: when turning, the driver will not be thrown off the platform by the centrifugal forces. Incidentally this platform has been registered for patent and is completely in line with the Ferris DNA fitted with, adjustable suspension technology to guarantee maximum operator comfort. Together with the ergonomically designed pad and control panel with integrated forward and reverse levers with dual stabilizer bars you will not find a better working place on another Stand-on.
The mower deck is hung separately in the chassis and, together with the short V-belts, vibrations are thus extra reduced. On HAVS and WBV the Ferris has no limitations.
As the operator remains in a natural, upright position, the body weight is distributed more evenly over the vertebrae, hips, knee and foot joints. When the direction of travel changes, the entire body follows the force of gravity so that all joints can absorb these lateral displacements. Since the fingers are more sensitive than the arms and legs, maneuvering is much more precise. The right-angled arm position and the placing of the forearm is ideal, so that really only the fingers have to be used to steer.
In summary: commercial cutters best Friend in tight spaces.
