Stand out in staffing

Placing TOP Professionals in Staffing and Recruitment Canada ???? USA ???? UK ????
A little known fact about us... we can't actually see into the future. What we can do is let you know what we've seen so far this year and reveal our market predictions for 2024 (check out 'Bits & Blogs' below). Want the good news first? The employment landscape is showing promising signs of recovery and growth. We are witnessing a notable uptick in hiring activities, reflecting a positive shift in the job market. The bad news... there are competitive and highly saturated candidate pools.?
Companies that are eager to rebuild and expand existing teams will need to craft a targeted approach to secure top talent. The most efficient choice is to enlist the support of specialized expertise to navigate through the talent pool effectively. This is where recruitment companies play a pivotal role, offering a tailored approach to talent acquisition; ensuring companies not only fill positions, but also secure candidates who align with their long-term goals. In a highly competitive market, partnering with a recruitment company becomes a strategic advantage, allowing businesses to focus on their core operations while leaving the intricate task of finding the best candidates to the experts.?
The same can be said for job seekers looking to stand out from the crowds of applicants. Evaluate role alignment early, receive customized interview prep, and rest assured that your application is reaching the hiring manager. It's the logical decision to partner with recruiters when it's time to get serious about success.
We look forward to being a part of your journey.?
The recruitment and staffing industry is a huge money maker, with an estimated global revenue exceeding $648 billion (SIA). Staying ahead of industry trends is essential for staffing professionals to remain competitive, meet the evolving needs of the workforce, and secure their piece of the pie.
Recruiters don’t have the best reputation. In fact, type “recruiters are…” into Google and the first suggestion you get is “trash.” Ouch. When you find the right recruiter to work with, they can actually be a great source of support. Check out some of the most common misconceptions about recruiters.
Jenny Finch | LinkedIn
Co-Owner
Jenny is our leader on the other side of the pond and resident true-crime television enthusiast. Her skills of deduction may not have led to a career in law enforcement, but they certainly help with finding top talent in staffing and recruitment across the United Kingdom.
As a sales-rep turned recruiter, Jenny has a real knack for connection. Connecting with candidates, clients, and consequently candidates with clients, is both a talent and passion of hers. When Jenny isn't working, she prioritises spending time with family & friends, going to the gym, and when possible, travelling the world. In fact, Jenny just spent her holidays in Lapland, a destination she can't wait to return to and try out some skiing!
Alongside placing experienced recruiters, you also work with new grads; what are your top pieces of advice for them before entering a career in staffing and recruitment?
"Do your research, and then do some more! Really understand what the role is (Google is your friend), talk to people you may already know in recruitment (and importantly those who have left, to hear why) to pick their?brains and get an 'inside' view on what a typical day may look like. Be clear on the different types of recruitment roles, i.e. full 360, 270, 180, or delivery/ resourcer and how that changes your role. And finally, choose a sector you are interested in to specialise. Go in with your 'eyes wide open' so there should be no surprises. And enjoy it!
As someone who focuses in UK recruitment (and therefore a high density of recruitment firms) what steps do you take to stand out?
"I'd like to think that I really try and understand what a client can offer a candidate, and why they should move from their current firm to join them. When starting to work with a new client, I try and apply the principal - 'Would I be confident to place someone I know or a friend in this business?'. That serves as a gauge to ensure I am working with good businesses. You can't possibly work with everyone, and I don't try to, so keeping an eye on the market is really important. It's also best to be honest and truthful, if a candidate should stay where they currently are at the moment, I will advise them rather than just aim to get a fee."
At the end of 2023, our team focused on reflection to guide 2024 strategy. We took stock of our good, bad and ugly of the year, systems and processes, and all the fun internal aspects that go into supporting a successful recruitment firm. As part of our holistic review, we want to hear directly from candidates and clients that have worked with us about their 'RGC experience'.?
