With digital competition on the rise, it's essential to make yourself known in the world of social media. Post daily and naturally you'll start seeing growth as users both locally and internationally become familiar with your presence - be that through selling or teaching something new. Putting a plan in place is essential as a long-term growth strategy.
We have seen this with Instagram, Facebook and now we are seeing it with LinkedIn as well.
Instagram’s focus on reels, stories and videos for user engagement is now being mirrored by Facebook. As a result of its recent struggles with user retention rates dropping, the social media platform has decided to incorporate more video content in an effort to make their news feed layout similar to Instagram's - likely as part of a strategy increase appeal among younger generations. By taking this approach they hope that users will stay instead migrating away from their site over competitors like Tiktok or even Instagram itself.
We will most likely see the same trend right here on LinkedIn so definitely utilize all of the new features you see rolling out.
What does this mean for you?
With the quickly changing digital realm, it is essential to stay ahead of your competition and make sure that your content resonates with those viewing. Utilize trends, embrace short-form videos such as Reels and Stories, or else you may experience a decrease in user engagement - just like Facebook. Now’s the time to capitalize on these strategies before they too become outdated!
Don’t be afraid to show your face!
People connect more easily with someone they can put a face to, so it's important that you show yours on social media. When people post selfies and other visuals featuring themselves in their content, it helps build trust and adds an approachable human element. This encourages others to pause longer when scrolling through your feed rather than whizzing past - as the presence of real faces increases engagement potential! The "know, like & trust" factor will be naturally enhanced by letting your audience get familiar with who you are via sight too.
