What’s Changing

Email Domain Verification on LinkedIn

According to a recent LinkedIn email, you can determine the email domains to be associated with your organization. Adding a domain under the “Verifications” tab on your LinkedIn Page means that members with a matching email domain can use it to verify their association with your company.

For example, for us at Stamats, if we set ours to @stamats.com, only people with a @stamats.com email address could say that they are an employee of Stamats.

LinkedIn is asking that everyone review their suggested domains in the verifications tab by September 26 to ensure that there are not any domains suggested in error. If they do not make changes, the suggested domains will be automatically applied after that date.

Google Reporting

Important update for clients who track Google Business Profile views: Starting summer 2023, Google changed how they report profile views:

  • Before the change, Google counted each time the profile was served.
  • After the change, Google only counts UNIQUE profile impressions. In other words, one impression per user served.

If I searched for your business three times in June and was served your profile three times, Google reported three profile impressions. Today this activity would be reported as ONE impression.

Moderation Assist Tool on Facebook

This is a nice AI tool that automatically moderates the comments on your posts based on your criteria. For example, automatically hide posts with links, profanity, comments from new profiles, or profiles without friends or followers.

You can also add custom keywords to hide common spammy posts offering money or lottery winnings. The service automatically hides the comment, but someone with access to the page can still review the hidden comments and unhide them. It is important to note that the person who commented and their friends can still see posts hidden by Moderation Assist until you remove them.

The Eastern Iowa Community College (EICC) site represented four entities but not in a cohesive way as it grew organically in the past. This previous merging of sites created complicated navigation and UX experiences. Along with this confusion, the site did not represent the new brand and focused more on administration than prospective students.

The new design centralized EICC as one site with local information for relevant locations. Each page was reviewed and updated by EICC for an extensive content overhaul focusing on their offerings and highlighting their differentiators. The online audience was also incorporated to allow for expansion outside of the regional area to support their growth plan.
