Stallionaire shipping makes headlines on TradeWindsnews on fleet replacement move

A chemical tanker reported sold by Stallionaire Shipping of Lagos in December has turned up at Alang as the company takes delivery of a tanker Denmark’s Torm sold in March.
The Nigerian shipowner’s 37,000-dwt chemical/product tanker Adebomi 3 (built 2002) was on Tuesday anchored off the Indian shipbreaking centre under the name Debo, where it is awaiting beaching. The IHS Ships Register, which lists the Debo as “broken up” revealed that the ship was sold via Cypriot intermediary company Northsea Shipping. The Adebomi 3 was acquired as Maersk Ellen from Maersk Tankers in 2017.
Meanwhile, ownership of Torm’s 37,400-dwt chemical/product tanker 37,000-dwt Torm Tevere (built 2005) has been transferred to Stallionaire’s parent company SG Holdings Limited, which is also known as the Stallionaire Group. Delivery of the vessel appears to have happened very recently as IHS data, while reporting the change of ownership as having taken place, has yet to reflect a change of name or flag.
Trade Winds reported on 15 March that the Torm Tevere had been sold to unknown Nigerian who has been identified as the CEO of SG Holdings Limited. SG Holdings’ core business focus is the Nigerian oil and gas industry, where it is active in both the upstream and downstream sectors. Its website also indicates significant investments in the agriculture and commodities sectors.
Stallionaire Shipping was launched in 2013 with the purchase of the 14,700-dwt product tanker Pascale Knutsen (built 1993) from Knutsen OAS Shipping. Renamed Adebomi 1, the ship continues to trade in the company’s fleet. This is the first vessel before the growth by addition of four other vessels.
The addition of the Torm Tevere maintains the Stallionaire fleet of five ships, which are used to support the company’s oil and gas activities.
