Staff Spotlight Series - Maddison Mahaffey

Maddison, our amazing Brand & Key Account Sales manager, was honoured with the 2024 Marketing Employee of the Year Award. We had the pleasure of interviewing her to learn more about her journey and experiences at NAK Hair.

Tell us more about you and your career journey with NAK Hair so far.

I started my NAK Hair Journey at the end of 2021 as a Key Account Sales Manager, since coming back from maternity leave I have taken on an opportunity to learn about how we bring new product development into our brands and working closely with our manufacturers every day and other Brand Managers in the business.

Tell us more about your role and what you do.

As a Key Account Sales manager, I manage the communications between all of our online & major retail accounts working closely with them every day to ensure growth for our brands in their businesses as well as supporting with promotional planning for each calendar year.

Coming on board as a brand manager, I support with new product development for our brands as well as the communications between our suppliers & staying engaged with the industry in what the next product to the market is.

Having hairdressing back round prior to working with NAK Hair, I love to be able to provide the support from this background into what we are bringing to our brands making sure that is is valuable to not only our customers but our salons and hair stylists.

What inspires you about coming to work at NAK Hair?

No day is the same, there is always something new to learn about and a lot of challenges to overcome and support with not only your own professional development but the success of the business. The culture at NAK is like no other, everyone is so kind and willing to help where they can.

What is an achievement that you're proud of since working here?

I am most proud of myself for coming back from maternity leave part-time and taking on a new role. There has been a lot of challenges along the way, adapting to new tasks & workload, however I am really proud of myself for taking on this new opportunity and developing a knowledge behind the processes of rolling out new products to the market.
