Staff in the Spotlight - Irvine Turner
This weeks Staff in the Spotlight feature sees us focus on our latest Business Development Manager Irvine Turner, Irvine has migrated over from a previous role in the company as a client manager. We've given him the spotlight to tell you a bit more about himself, his day to day activities and what he loves about his job.
BABR- How would you summarise what you do?
I- I create and maintain long lasting relationships within our company's network. I also endeavour to create a comfortable environment for businesses to be able to approach us to discuss their companies financial difficulties in challenging times.
BABR- What does your daily routine look like?
I- My daily routine is ever changing but will generally consist of a mixture of attending networking events and business expos, responding to enquiries from referrers and individuals, initial consultations with prospective clients and meeting up with local accountants, financial advisors and business consultants. This is also alongside a daily walk at lunch with my dog Alfred who works with me in my office and an ever increasing dependency on coffee.
BABR- Can you tell us a few details about your favourite part of your job?
I- There's many things I enjoy about my job such as meeting new people and the ability to grow professionally. However my favourite part of the job and I’m sure it's the same with everyone at BABR is being able to relieve business owners of immense stress that could have been troubling them for long periods of time. We meet many people at a very low point and to be able to help them with these problems and being able to find solutions and alleviate stress is very rewarding.
BABR- Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us.

I- My knowledge of insolvency has grown astronomically as I worked as part of the onboarding team for almost a year. This has enabled me to step forward into my new role as Business Development manager and provide tailored and quality advice to prospective clients and allowed me to communicate what we do in a clear and concise manner.
BABR- What about our management team has impressed you the most?
I- Our management team is the perfect combination who dovetail each other perfectly. They both love to check in and constantly make you feel part of the team even though we work remotely. They encourage people to propose ideas and challenge those of others in a constructive manner to create a healthy but constantly refining the companies outlooks and procedures.
BABR- What’s the most unique part about working here?
I- How closely knit our team is even though we work completely remotely and live all around the country. We all have the same personal relations of an office environment but completely online which is due to the strong infrastructure we have in place and that every member of the team genuinely cares.
BABR- Which company values resonate with you the most and why?
I- Honesty- I think this is a key value that comes to light both internally and externally. We are firstly always honest with our clients and don’t hunt for easy wins but provide honest professional advice for the business owners. Also internally we are encouraged to have honest conversations about how every feels regarding certain decisions made and how we can improve things moving forwards.
BABR- What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?
I- Be bold and Brave. Ideas and constant improvement are encouraged within the business and will always be nurtured. Speak up about your ambitions and goals as Paul, Tom, Matt and Lucy will always attempt to facilitate them and push you on to achieve them.
