Staff Spotlight: Bridget Horan, MEd, MSW, LSW

How long have you been at CHOP?

One year and ten months.

Briefly describe your role with the Community Violence and Trauma Support Team:

I provide trauma-informed case management to youth and families after a youth experiences a violent assault. Our Violence Intervention Program is client-driven, so my work depends on the families' goals. I often support with mental health connections, educational advocacy, medical advocacy, utilities support, and extracurricular connections.?

What do you find most fulfilling about your job?

My favorite part of my job is building relationships with our families, especially the teens. It is a privilege to learn about their dreams and get to support them. It makes me so happy that I get to watch them grow, develop interests, and take risks.?

Share 3 fun facts about yourself:

  1. I went to school for sex therapy, so in addition to an MSW, I also have a Master’s of Human Sexuality Education.
  2. I played the baritone saxophone for eight years.
  3. I love animals of all kinds. You can find me greeting anything from a pigeon to a frog; I'm just delighted to see them, especially in the city!
