Shopify and Cohere are companies that CIX has recognized as Innovator of the Year and have become unicorns, not only integral to the Canadian tech ecosystem, but globally. Wealthsimple is also a CIX Startup Award alumni, whose valuation is currently $5B, further demonstrating the committee’s success in identifying future Canadian tech leaders. SRTX was also recognized by CIX as an Early Company Award Winner and emerged as the global champion at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco in 2022.

Matthew Leibowitz, an early investor in StackAdapt, is this year’s co-chair on the CIX Startup Awards Selection Committee, along with early-stage investor Neha Khera.?

As the front-end specialist for Plaza Ventures and Managing Partner of Quayside Ventures, Matthew’s expertise in the Canadian tech ecosystem is invaluable to CIX.
