Stability becomes the holy grail in this VUCA world

?We live in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world, we know that. What can we learn from the recent years’ journey and remember for today’s success?
?
Change leaders and employees face a myriad of transformations that they need to stay on top of. In the 20th year of this century, COVID-19 surged, and the first issue leaders had to confront was the 'novelty' of working from home. This issue was resolved by considering both the big picture and individual preferences.
?
In times of upheaval, such as when a boss considers a joint venture or opening offices in a new country, the first question to answer is always: 'What is the benefit of this?' Unfortunately, the initial response is often negative, driven by fears and insecurities that need to be expressed and heard.
?
'There must be a good reason' is a statement that can help build stability for the future when leaders are tackling change and transformational impact. The task involves investigating the issues raised by stakeholders with a positive approach.
?
It requires managing the balance between negative and positive energy, understanding the details, and avoiding unfounded arguments and generalisations based on exceptional situations. The ultimate goal is to create stability in an unstable environment. This exchange of energy helps to train the brain, promote flexibility, and foster goodwill to achieve transformation.
?
During our Change Matters Virtual Summit discussion, Kai Chan , Global CEO of ISS Global Forwarding, highlighted a German saying: 'Wie man in den Wald hineinruft, so schallt es heraus', which means that the way you communicate will determine the response you receive.
