News – Apple Unveils Vison Pro, Upgrades Sport Features for Apple Watch

The biggest tech story this week saw 苹果 launch its hotly anticipated augmented reality (AR) headset: Vision Pro. Billed as a ‘spatial computer’- using various visual, audio, speech and touch inputs to create an ‘infinite canvas’ for apps to scale beyond a traditional display - the headset is tipped to offer new immersive experiences, providing a new model for sports content consumption. In addition, WatchOS 10 - the latest version of the Apple Watch operating system - now has more cycling and hiking features, alongside a series of new APIs that allow workout and coaching apps the ability to use motion data and transfer custom workouts to the Workout app.

News – Sports Technology Award Winner Betterguards Launches in the US

Fresh from winning the Sports Technology Award for Best Technology for Injury Prevention and Recovery last month, Betterguards Technology has launched sales across the US market. Founded in 2014, Betterguards is headquartered in Berlin and its award-winning ankle protection system, which delivers responsive ankle stabilization without restricting a full range of motion, is now available to US athletes and consumers via the company’s online store. Developed in partnership with world-class athletes, Betterguards has also announced endorsement deals with NBA stars Franz and Moe Wagner of the Orlando Magic.

News – WSC Sports Forms Creator Program to Help Rights Holders Maximise Archive Content

WSC Sports has announced the formation of a new Creator Program that enables rights holders to to legally utilize archive footage. The new solution was announced as part of a deal with promoter Top Rank Boxing and is aimed at expanding the reach of rights holders’ archive footage, while avoiding copyright infringement. Creators will be able to find highlights or compilations for Top Rank’s full archive in seconds via WSC's AI-based platform.

News – Sport Teams Turn to AI to Drive Sales Leads

American soccer club Louisville City FC City and the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks Inc. are amongst professional US teams using AI to target the most promising sales leads to drive profit for their organizations. The teams have invested in intelligent virtual assistants which communicate via email, phone calls, messaging and chatbots in 75 languages across marketing, sales and customer engagement functions. Initial results have identified a five-fold return on investment.
