News – Apple Banks on Variety for Upcoming AR/VR Headset
According to reports, 苹果 is racing to build a trove of software and services for its upcoming?mixed-reality headset, seeking to win over consumers with apps that use the device’s novel 3D interface. As the company gets ready to unveil the product in June, Bloomberg reports that Apple hasn’t found a ‘killer’ app that will make the $3,000 headset a must-have item. Instead, Apple plans to pack the headset with a variety of features — games, fitness services, even an app for reading books in virtual reality — and hope that buyers find something they like.
News – The Sports Technology Awards Announces Multiyear Agreement With Rock-it Global
The STA Group today revealed that Rock-it Cargo has become a sponsor of?The Sports Technology Awards, the leading global celebration of tech-led innovation in sports. The multi-year partnership will commence with The 2023 Sports Technology Awards, The Awards’ inaugural event in the US, which takes place on May 18th?in New York City.
News – UK regulator blocks Microsoft takeover of Activision Blizzard
微软 's $68.7bn (￡55bn) deal to buy US video game company Activision Blizzard has been blocked in the UK by the Competition and Markets Authority. The proposed takeover would see Microsoft acquire such hit titles as Call of Duty and Candy Crush. But the regulator said it was concerned the deal would offer reduced innovation and less choice for gamers in the fast-growing cloud gaming business. Microsoft and Activision hit out at the decision and said they would appeal.
News – DAZN Lands Airspeeder Content Deal
Airspeeder , the fast-growing Flying Car Racing series shortlisted in the Sports Partnership of the Year category of The 2023 Sport Technology Awards, has partnered with streaming platform DAZN to bring content from the EXA series race to audiences worldwide. The deal will feature highlights from the first Airspeeder EXA Series Race in South Australia, as well as the Road to Flying Car Racing, Finding Extreme Pilots and Building Flying Cars series.
News – FEI Showcases Latest Innovations in Lausanne
Earlier this week, The Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) shared a host of innovative digital platforms at its annual Sports Forum in Lausanne, demonstrating its commitment to preparing athletes and horses from grassroots to the highest level of the sport. The international governing body of equestrian sport presented a wealth of technology enhancements to its FEI World Challenges platform, FEI Database, and FEI HorseApp, with new features which aim to simplify and provide efficient processes for National Federations, horse owners and athletes.
News – Virtual Tables Teams-Up with Tempus Ex Machina
Digital signature specialist VRTL is partnering with AI fan engagement firm Tempus Ex Machina - shortlistees in the Best Technology for College Sports category at the?2023 Sports Technology Awards - to provide teams, brands and athletes with video content that can be autographed in real time and distributed to fans. Under the terms of the deal, Tempus Ex’s automated clips and personalised highlights packages will be delivered to Virtual Tables users, who will be able to create customised digital products for their audiences that drive revenue and deepen engagement, particularly with remote fans around live events.
