News: Catapult launches the 'Football of the Future' at CES 2023
Catapult , a global leader in sports technology solutions for elite teams, has built the first smart American football for sports teams with an embedded chip for wireless charging and collecting ball and player-tracking data. The ball was created in partnership with radio frequency-based wireless charger provider Energous and is being showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. All 32 NFL teams use Catapult’s wearable GPS devices and video analysis software, they will now benefit from additional tracking with regards real-time movement of the ball and players touching the ball.
News: Nike Training Club launches on Netflix
Netflix ?and? 耐克 ?have teamed up to help subscribers reach their fitness goals in 2023 with the launch of the?Nike Training Club. The first batch of 46 videos is now available on the streaming platform. Each Nike Training Club program has multiple episodes and when Netflix releases the whole series there will be a total of 30 hours of motivating exercise sessions. The streamer noted that all programs will be available in multiple languages across all of Netflix’s plans. The company’s Nike partnership suggests a path whereby a streaming pure-play can become a lifestyle brand.
News: Southampton FC launch competition for soccer tech start-ups
English Premier League team Southampton Football Club is offering sports technology and Web 3.0 start-ups the opportunity to win a UK£100,000 (US$120,446) prize and a partnership with the English soccer club as part of a new competition. The ‘Future of Football challenge’, backed by the club’s owners Sport Republic and Estonia-based investment firm Yolo Group , invites companies to pitch innovations that promise to enhance various elements of soccer, including scouting, training, recovery and match analytics, as well as fan engagement and gamification.

In 2023, social media will change, with young users increasingly pushing for more meaningful online interactions, according to this feature in WIRED .
