SS&C support Living Well Foodbank Charity in London

Did you know demand in food bank services in London is up 191% in a year, particularly for children?

SS&C is passionate about making a difference. As part of our CSR strategy, we are committed to helping better our communities, and this year, that means supporting Living Well’s Foodbank charity in London. Living Well provided over 1000 adult bags and 460 children’s bags in the month of August alone. In addition to helping people through their foodbank and free hot meals, they provide advocacy and counselling services, as well as advice relating to benefits, housing and other support services.

During a recent fundraiser drive with our team in London on Thursday 12th October, SS&C employees invited Living Well into our offices where they presented an overview of what the charity offers our local community. We were delighted to raise over ￡750 worth of personal contribution towards adult food bags costing ￡10 per bag and children’s food bags costing ￡20 per bag.

In addition to the above, SS&C donated 100 children’s food bags to the charity and sponsored the weekly hot lunch and following the internal drive, SS&C volunteers, along with some client guests, visited Living Well to help pack the 100 children’s food bags, as well as serve lunch and prepare the foodbank for those who rely on the Living Well center. We and our clients got to see the great work in action. The approach of Living Well providing support for the underlying issues causing food poverty, such as debt and mental health, is a great approach to tackle the challenges faced by our communities.

In further support of SS&C’s goals of supporting sustainability, we donated reusable bags for Living Well to refill and reuse.
