Whether you’re in construction or quarrying, you want a rock drill that is productive, comfortable and safe. Meet the new generation of surface rock drills, the SRD range.
Since many years, Atlas Copco RH series of surface rock drill has been dominating as the most preferred and productive rock drill by our customers.
Its time for a change!
Its time for a change, as customers are looking for increased productivity and at a lower total cost of ownership. The health and safety of the handheld tool operators are getting more attention in the recent days and the regulating authorities in several countries & customers are looking for no compromise especially with hand-arm vibration, noise level exposure and the exposure to respirable silica dust at the construction and mining job site.
SRD, The next generation rock drills
Atlas Copco introduces the SRD, The next generation rock drills. SRD is available in 2 new models, SRD20 and SRD 25, suitable for construction and mining applications. Find out more below,
Four reasons that makes SRD a new generation surface rock drill
1. Single body design
The new single body design in SRD has no tie rods in 3-parts concept like RH or any other traditional rock drills. This eliminates any compressed air leakages and the lifetime of cylinder is increased, therefore, its more reliable. It is easy to assemble and disassemble, hence, SRD offers improved serviceability.
2. Assisted flushing technology
The assisted flushing technology allows additional flow of compressed air through a dedicated pathway built-in within the cylinder when the flushing valve is turned on. So that, the operator can continue smoother drilling assisted by extra flushing. Whereas the drilling stops in old generation rock drills when flushing valve is turned on. This uninterrupted drilling increases the drilling rate for the operator and increases productivity for the customers.
3. Ergonomic Handle
SRD rock drills comes with ergonomic – vibration reduced handle as a part of standard offering. SRD has a lower vibration exposure level. E.g. SRD 25 has vibration level of 10 m/s2, almost 50% reduced compared to RH 658 which has 20 m/s2. The lower vibration level ensures good health for operators and increases their productivity as operators can work longer with SRD rock drills.
4. Improved Silencers
The new improved silencers not only looks amazing, it actually has better noise reduction of 2dB compared to the previous old generation. The new SRD looks robust as well.
5: BONUS: Add dust collection system for complete protection.
The simple and most efficient dust collection system DCP 10 Rock drill kit is made for operating with one rock drill. It uses the available source of compressed air and consumes only 30 cfm per tool. The suction hose of 21ft (7m) allows wide area of operation. The filter inside the dust collector ensures 99.58% purity of exhaust air and is supported with cleaning system for prolonged life. Customers have a trolley option available as an accessories.
