V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking a Sr. Manager in infrastructure Management for our premier client. This is a direct hire position. This role is primarily onsite in the Chicago Loop with hybrid flexibility, expecting 2-3 days per week in the office.

Overview:

The Infrastructure Manager is a key member who will lead various infrastructure efforts, manage projects across diverse teams, and identify, design, and deploy new solutions. This is a highly focused role requiring deep technical knowledge. The candidate will manage a team to contribute to the development and execution of the overall infrastructure plan, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The role involves analyzing issues, implementing standards and best practices, and applying innovation and problem-solving skills to recommend improvements to infrastructure solutions. We seek a leader, collaborator, and executor.

What You'll Need:

  • Leadership Experience: 6+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Management lead.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in server & operating systems, networks, firewalls, load balancers, VMware, and Active Directory.
  • Automation Skills: Significant experience in automating processes to minimize manual work.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage through organizational changes and provide technical leadership.
  • Ownership: Thrive when empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.

What You'll Do:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of engineers for IT operations and project support.
  • Quality Assurance: Hold teams accountable for quality work and adherence to project timelines; mentor team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the introduction of IT 'best practices' into all areas of process, metrics, and performance.
  • Resource Coordination: Oversee the installation and setup of server software and hardware upgrades.
  • Innovation: Create better ways of solving technical problems and challenge the status quo.
  • Project Management: Manage the intake process for application project estimates.
  • Communication: Lead PowerPoint presentations, negotiate, facilitate brainstorming sessions, build consensus, and guide solutions through governance forums.
  • Resource Management: Define and manage resource allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure 'best practices' are followed.
  • Collaboration: Promote collaboration among technology, product, and business teams, grow your network, and deepen existing relationships.
