Squid Game - It is Your game too!

Squid Game - It is Your game too!

I have to confess that I was not as productive as I want to be over the weekends....... ? ?????-??????? ??? #?Q???????

Watching on #Netflix at 1.25X and managed to complete the entire season in 7 hours. Ok, maybe I was productive (LOL!).

It is a pretty bloody show, so if you do not like blood splashing and seeing organs, this is not for you! However, if my takeways are something that you can relate to, then perhaps, you will want to reconsider.

Takeaway 1: When you are down in momentum, stay low.

One of the ways to feel empowered is to take control of what we can. One of the ways to working smart is to ride the trends.

The main lead (player #456) was in such a dire situation because 1) he has a serious gambling issue 2) he does not have the winning luck in his bets which resulted in 1) broken marriage 2) not financially capable to provide for his daughter 3) his old-aged mom had to work to continue to support him because his income from being a chauffeur was not able to sustain him despite having serious diabetes condition.

If we were to draw this lesson to our lives/ careers:

- If your momentum is low, do not engage in high-risk activities because the outcome is not within our control. Sometimes we may not be able to appetite the loss.

- Riding on momentum has the same effects as riding with trends. Successful and wealthy people know when to step on their accelerator and when to slow down/ when to exit/ when to change course.

Takeaway 2: We are a result of our choices.

One of the ways to feel powerful is knowing that we always have a choice. And with each decision we made, it leads to something.

There were 456 players. This show is not merely about the survival of the fittest. Obviously, because the supposedly fittest and strongest guy (player #101) did not emerge as the winner. When I was watching the show and looking at the course of decisions made by the players, it is not difficult to understand why they ended up the way they did.

No one likes to feel powerless and helpless. The only true power is the one that we give to ourselves yet we tend to forget about it and subject ourselves to be victims of situations.

We always have a choice. We can choose to give, choose to take, choose to forgive, choose to hate, choose to love, choose to kill, choose to play, choose to be kind etc... Even if you are not choosing, that itself is a choice. Once we made that decision, make the best out of it, come on terms with it and move on.

Takeaway 3: We do not seek, we create the conditions.

I've shared before and I want to share again because it makes so much sense.

Rather than seeking X, it is always about creating the conditions for X to happen. X can be money, love, joy, happiness, health etc.

This game was created by the rich and 'joyless' people for the struggling individuals who needed a way out. The former are getting joy & thrill at the expense of the latter. The latter (the ultimate winner) will walk away with a prize that will solve his/her financial problems.

Demand and supply. The willing seller, willing buyer. I do not think it is fair to pinpoint only one. This is an extreme case but if we bring it down the scale, we are living in a mild version of it.

Ideally, I will wish that we are creating the conditions in a healthier way.

The costume reminds me of #MoneyHeist, the game format reminds me of #TheHungerGames, the genre is pretty similar to #The100 and #AliceInBorderland. I really wouldn't want to spoil the show any more than I should for you, so it is up to you!
