Squeeze this next decade or it will most certainly squeeze you.

Squeeze this next decade or it will most certainly squeeze you.

I have come to believe over my time so far, that if we don’t take responsibility for all our results, non -results, actions and non -actions, that life will have a say.

A significant part of this responsibility, is to know the nature of how things seem to work. CS Lewis said “we don’t have a soul, we are a soul, what we have is a body.” I love this. I believe this. Our souls are designed to perpetually evolve, unite with others and engage fully in this wonderous experience of life.

For many years in my last decade my goal was to evolve, transform and become all I can. For a long time, I believed that to become this I had to ascend the ego.

I had to let go of the ego, I had to somehow function from spirit and not from my personality. Whilst this kept me entertained for a while, coming to the end of this last decade and the dawning of this new one, I now realise that for all of us to continue evolving and make meaningful contributions we need to immerse so we can ascend the evolution ladder.

I have realised that the very thing I was denying, trying to let go of and disidentifying from, (the ego that is), is the very vehicle we all must engage with and use as an instrument for our own actions, results and responsibilities. It gives me great comfort to conveniently assume that the ego mechanism, is a temporary vehicle which allows life to be lived through us!! I also conveniently assume that when our bodies die, our spirit will lay our ego to rest, and with the greatest respect and gratitude, thank it for its service.

Since this new realisation, my business has gone to a completely new level. New level of opportunity, new level of clients, new level of reality. By engaging fully with who we choose to become, which a fancy way of saying, choosing the role we want our egos to play, we can, will and must squeeze this next decade.

Ultimately, our transformation is an identity shift. I thought I was letting go of ego, but all I was doing was supressing it. Fuck that. Ego is the very key to our transformation. It is a gift from our spirit so we can effectively and successfully navigate this physical universe. Ego is like a well -kept pet. It needs to be loved, nurtured and fed. How to know if you are feeding it well or not well? Life will tell us.

If life is squeezing us, then we are being slaves to our ego. If we are squeezing life, ego is a loved, nurtured well-fed servant for our spirit and our soul.

Assume the role you want to become. Whilst outcome, and process play their roles, they won’t be achieved if we are not being the person who achieves the results we want. For example, one outcome might be to lose weight and the process might be to hire and see a trainer, this seems obvious. What is not obvious is that we must become something different to achieve different outcomes. What if I asked myself this question, “How do I live the life of a professional athlete?” Recruit that thought and see what happens! When a goal becomes part of your identity, you no longer need external motivations. You become the source of your own inspiration. That is real power.

Thank you for reading, all the very best for this next decade and squeeze it, engage fully in the game and who you are becoming will add so much light in so many dark places. Good on you I say! Looking forward to riding alongside you on these new adventures. Bring on 2020.

Just been listening to Dr Joe Dispenza about using the power of your mind to change your life. Is it Ego or Mind?

Wow! So amazing to be able to get a handle on our ego, and not ride the journey as on a bucking horse at a rodeo, but as it slows down as a calmed beast sounds more fantasmagorical than just squeezing gently and guiding the journey!
