Spy Cider Festival Draws Over 400 Attendees Despite Overcast Weather
The Spy Cider Festival, held on June 22nd at Spy Cider House and Distillery, was a resounding success, attracting over 400 attendees from the local community and beyond. Despite the overcast weather, guests enjoyed a delightful array of ciders, food, and live entertainment, making the event a memorable experience for all.
The festival featured an impressive selection of ciders from producers across the province, offering a diverse range of flavours and styles. Live music by Jolie Anatasia and Jerry Leger, courtesy of the Four Winds Music Festival, added to the vibrant atmosphere. Food vendors, including The Gate, Bivalve, and Dee's Quiet Cafe, provided delicious pairings to complement the cider tastings.
"We were thrilled with the turnout and the positive feedback from attendees," said Ian Smith, Co-owner at Spy. "Despite the damp weather, the spirits of our guests were high, and the festival was a fantastic celebration of our local and provincial cider scene."
The festival not only highlighted cider manufacturers from around the province but also provided an educational and engaging experience, allowing attendees to learn more about cider-making and the unique characteristics of different varieties.
A special thank you goes out to all the drink vendors: Colio Estate Wines & Thornbury Village Craft Cider and Beer , Brooker's Cider, Woodfolk Cider, Ernest Cider Co. , Slabtown Cider Co, Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery, Ardiel Cider House, Rise and Ruin Cider, Heeman's cider, Niagara Cider Company , and Grey and Gold Cider Company.
