As we begin the month of October, we enter the final mile for the 2024 elections. We already are tired. However, we must get our second breath and sprint this last mile. Success for us is registering and getting over the finish line by voting.

REGISTER TO VOTE IN YOUR STATE: https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/get-voteready

CHECK OPTIONS FOR HEALTHY VOTING IN YOUR STATE: https://www.healthyvoting.org.

For much of our history, persons with behavioral health and disability conditions were legally prevented from voting. That is no longer the case. For all who have these conditions, voting promotes self-direction, empowerment, better health and wellbeing, and better community health.

The right to vote is an awesome privilege and a major personal responsibility. Let me close with a very apt quote from my good friend and colleague, Dr MaryJane Alexander: “Worry less. Do more”!
