SPRING IS HERE
And The Ladies Are Still Getting Sh*t Don
Welcome to the May edition of the Takin' Care of Lady Business newsletter! We have been back to hosting some exciting IRL events, celebrating exciting progress from our female-founder friends and clients, and of course, continuing to fight for women's equality on all fronts.
Our mission? Make women rich.
Looking Back On "My Birth Story"
In honor of Mother's Day, we revisited a 2020 interview I did with Hill House diving into my birthing story!
"Every woman who is contemplating having children alone should do it, do it, do it, and do it! Every single woman who has done it wonders why they didn’t do it sooner. Reach out to people who have done it. I tell all of my friends that I will talk to any woman who is thinking about doing it because there weren’t any women at all that I knew that had done it.
Everybody has issues. I have a client who has never met her father. I have friends with dads or moms that they have horrible relationships with. Everybody has a family story, whether they’re admitting it or not. It’s definitely a job nobody gets right. You’re always going to do something wrong. You just have to understand that going into it."

Flying Business Class with Sophia Amoruso
I held a session with Sophia Amoruso's current Business Class cohort to talk about:
- Making Deals
- Negotiation
- Getting rid of limiting beliefs + so much more.
Business Class is an entrepreneurship program for founders and founders-to-be - and it's so much more than your basic "online course." Members gain educational content, a rich, exclusive community, and a portal to exclusive access to today's top founders, CEOs, and industry leaders.
Utendahl Creative Did a Pivot
Our favorite creative, Madison Utendahl, has revamped her agency to focus exclusively as a Design and Branding firm.
"The majority of Creative/Design studios are still being run and dominated by White, Straight men. We're taking a very bold and confident approach, challenging WHY people keep putting their money into agencies that lack diversity and representation. Its time for the world to bet on us - a black owned, all female design firm."
Take a look at their fresh?capabilities deck , and we're sure you'll be filled with inspiration and running to get in touch with UC.

TJD GIVES A SHIT: Causes We Care About
Child Care is a BUSINESS issue
1.1 Million women are still out of the workforce as of January 2022, many citing childcare 'expense or availability' as a reason they left.
We're proud to support the #MarshallPlanForMoms National Business Coalition for Child Care, which aims to create a systemic shift in how companies support employees' child care needs.
Reshma Saujani's child care report was released alongside an excluse with The New York Times,?"Child care benefits could help ease the worker crunch."

Abortion Access For Every Body
FreeFrom is launching a?cash assistance fund ?for survivors who need help in covering the costs to be able to safely get an abortion. We cannot talk about economic security and physical safety for survivors without them having this basic access to healthcare services and full control over their own bodies.
This will be a nationwide fund that any survivor of gender-based violence can apply to in order to cover the full costs associated with getting an abortion, such as transportation, lodging, etc.
We'll be walking with our community on Saturday in NYC and hope you see you all there.
